Gas Furnace and AC Swapped for a High-Efficiency Variable-Speed Heat Pump in PDX

Here's a job we're really proud of. This homeowner had an aging gas furnace and AC combo that was doing its best - but its best wasn't cutting it anymore. Uneven temps, noise, and climbing energy costs have a way of making that decision for you. So we got to work.

We pulled the old system out and replaced it with a high-efficiency variable-speed heat pump. The difference between a standard single-stage system and a variable-speed unit is significant. Instead of blasting on full power and then shutting off, a variable-speed system runs at lower speeds for longer stretches. That means steadier temperatures room to room, quieter operation, and less wear on the equipment over time.

The indoor air handler went in clean - a Lennox unit plumbed into the existing duct system with proper condensate drainage set up and ready to go. Outside, the new heat pump condenser sits on a solid pad next to the home, with all the refrigerant lines, electrical connections, and control wiring carefully routed and buttoned up. Getting that outdoor unit dialed in correctly matters. A sloppy refrigerant charge or rushed electrical hookup will cost you in performance and longevity down the road.

We also touched the ductwork as part of this HVAC installation - you can see the sheet metal work involved in transitioning everything over cleanly. That's not always glamorous work, but it's the kind of thing that separates a system that runs right from one that underperforms no matter how good the equipment is.
